About Dr. Lauren

I graduated with a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon - the nation’s oldest accredited naturopathic medical school. My undergraduate studies were largely focused on human biology, sustainable development, and ethnobotany. My clinical rotations were comprehensive- among them were family medicine, women’s health, naturopathic gastroenterology with SIBO specialist Dr. Steven Sandberg-Lewis, naturopathic oncology, transgender care, and pain management. I hold an active membership with the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

I hold a license as a naturopathic physician in the state of Vermont and am a member of the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians. I completed my residency at Remede Naturopathics, New York State’s first and only board-certified naturopathic residency program. I have also completed a fellowship at holistic health center Succurro in upstate New York, where I explored the various aspects of energetic medicine as well as the relationship between healing and creativity. In addition to patient care, I love to write about health and teach workshops. My writing and interviews have been featured in Clean Plates and Nutrafol, where I also serve on the naturopathic medical team.

How we interact, what we eat, and what we consider medicine is largely informed by our history and lineage. I believe that reconnecting with our ancestral modalities of health is an integral part of holistic care. Equally important is our capacity to adapt, innovate, and progress. I aim to do healing work that is trauma-informed, inclusive to all, and treads softly on the Earth. I hope to empower my patients to comfortably lean into the transformative experience of a body healing itself.

Anyone can benefit from naturopathic care. I specialize in digestive dysfunction, women’s health including fertility support and hormone balance, chronic anxiety, cardiovascular disease prevention, clinical nutrition and herbal medicine.

Umbel Health

Umbel is a shape found in nature — in the composition of a plant in which individual flower stalks emerge from a common point on the stem, to create the whole. This image guides the vision for my wellness practice - individualized health care in service to self, collective, and environment.

My practice weaves traditional knowledge with evidence-based medicine to offer a modern approach to holistic healthcare. Find me at the intersection of neuroendocrine immunology and plant spirit medicine, sky and earth, city and land. These dualities are not in opposition, but rather in service to one another.

I aim to educate my patients about their bodies and offer minimally-invasive tools to address pathology and shift toward our natural state of homeostasis. Most importantly, my patients are given a space to be heard and a means to return to nature. Care is individualized, trauma-informed, and inclusive. All are welcome.
